The St. Francis Learning Center was awarded grants from both the Minnesota DNR and ESSER in excess of $125,000 in 2024-25 to help enhance the student learning experience.
These grants enabled:
Ice Fishing course with state of the art fishing equipment, ice houses and electronics.
Outdoor Education course with brand new tents, hiking packs, and camping equipment.
The National Archery in Schools Program (NASP).
"Thanks to significant effort by its teachers, Saints Academy was the recipient of the maximum award from the No Child Left Inside grant from the MN DNR, as well as federal grants that enabled exciting outdoor programming," said Ben Craig, St. Francis Area Schools Alternative Education Program Supervisor. "This grant allows students to take part in cross-curricular language arts, geography, biology, and outdoor education classes featuring fishing, ice fishing, hiking, camping and canoeing."
